What can one do with the "towel rack?" With the redesign of the Cruiser interior for 2006, a grab bar was added on the passenger side of the cabin. There has been much discussion among Cruiser fans as to what uses this bar could be put to. We have a few suggestions pictured below.

Your navigator can use it as a map holder.

It makes a good place for your 2-way radio when cruising with the group.

Of course it makes a good spot for your car polishing towels.

It makes a good hat rack.

Perhaps best of all it makes a nice wine carrier. Remember, you can't have an open alcoholic container in the cabin in most states, and of course don't drink and drive.
The PT Cruiser is not the first vehicle to have a "towel rack." Below is an example from a restored 1969 Camaro that was listed for sale, asking $149,000. We remember other vehicles from the 60's and 70's that also had such bars. We remember them as being a flexible bar, not the rigid one in the PT. As we remember, they were on General Motors vehicles for the most part. Thanks to club member Jon Knobler for the photo and information.
